Description +

Beautiful lightweight cotton numnah, half-lined with 100% natural merino lambswool, accredited by Australian Woolmark. Much less bulky than traditional jumping numnahs, these protectors are designed for more advanced jumping saddles, with a contoured shape to minimize heat build-up and weight.

  • The flexible backing expands and contracts with the horse's movements.
  • The dense, soft, dynamic structure wool constantly adapts to the horse's back.
  • The intrinsic strength of the pads makes them resistant to the rigors of wear and regular washing.
  • The spine is swept at the withers, relieving pressure on the withers.
  • Finer, shorter wool lines the spine to ensure comfort and allow air to circulate through the pad.

The new gooseneck design and D-ring straps fit most brands of saddle, and the reinforced teardrop-shaped girth protection area, with two adjustable Velcro straps for easy saddle fitting, cushions and protects the top of the girth and helps prevent slipping, staining and wear.

It's well known that there's nothing better for a horse's back than natural wool - it promotes blood circulation, is fully breathable and helps maintain optimum temperature in summer and winter. It regulates humidity, controls the proliferation of bacteria and viruses, and prevents bruising, scarring, chafing and bedsores.

If washed carefully on the wool cycle (30 degrees maximum) or by hand, with LeMieux Wool Wash or with a non-biological powder or liquid, these underpads will last for years. Always air dry. DO NOT tumble dry or place directly on a heat source.

  • Remove hair, dirt and dried sweat with a stiff brush.
  • Machine wash at 30° on a cold/wool cycle or by hand.
  • Washing in a wash bag is recommended.
  • Use Lemieux Wool Wash (available from Horse Health)
  • Straighten/flatten cotton fabric after washing.
  • Air dry, away from sources of heat. Never tumble dry.
  • Avoid using strong cleaning products.
  • Ensure that all hooks and loops are firmly closed before washing.
  • Warning: In rare cases, dye from black wool items can seep into wool items and give them a slight blue tint. Grey coats may be stained.
