Limiting traction power prevents excessive forces being applied to the calf. If this is not the case, pulling forces can reach up to 600 kg, with a high risk of injury to both cow and calf. Forces of up to 160 kg are absolutely sufficient for normal births.
The 2060 mechanism from HK Rheintechnik features infinitely variable traction force control. The lever locks as soon as the preset force is reached. In the event of complications, the tensile force control can also be interrupted.
