Description of the Galaxy helmet

The Galaxy helmet features unique colour combinations, contrasting stitching, and chrome details on the shell. Its timeless design adds to the comfort of a breathable helmet. Meeting European and American standards, it allows the rider to ride safely. The Eclipse visor gives an elegant and chic finish to the helmet. Its size, larger than a classic visor, protects you from the sun during your riding sessions in the arena or outdoors.

The Galaxy collection offers a high-gloss finish in five shell colours: blue, black, bison, grey, and carbon. The Galaxy helmet from Antarès is characterised by its shiny shell combined with leather inserts and harness.

• The shell
  The outer shell of the helmet is made of ABS. Its role is to dissipate shock energy over the surface of the helmet. When your helmet hits an object, the shell spreads the shockwave by dissipating it. Rigid and lightweight, it is known for its high resistance to scratches.

• The inner liner
  Made of EPS (expanded polystyrene), it absorbs the energy produced by the impact by contracting. The inner liner then becomes much denser. Its density varies according to the sizes of our helmets. To see the effects of a shock on the inner liner, check out our blog post.

• Ventilation
  Its 4 front vents and 2 rear extractors provide good airflow. Thermal regulation is thus improved.

• The retention system
  The harness ensures the helmet stays firmly on the rider's head. It consists of 3 points. The Y-shape of the fixing system has points positioned further apart, which reduces helmet rotation. The straps are made of nylon and the buckles are made of POM. A little bonus: the Antarès harnesses are made from leather scraps from their custom saddles. Stylish and responsible!

• The helmet pads/foams
  In contact with the rider's head, the high-quality foams enable a perfect fit of your equestrian helmet and optimal comfort. Whether your head is round or oval, they will adjust to your shape. Removable, these internal pads can be regularly taken out and cleaned to maintain the cleanliness of the helmet. Made in Italy, they are breathable, certified OEKO-TEX®, and can be hand-washed in lukewarm water.

The Antarès helmet has the CE marking and SEI certification

The European standard EN1384-2017 requires the visor to flex when a load is applied to it. This is to prevent it from breaking and injuring the rider. The visors of Antarès helmets are therefore intentionally flexible. In the case of deformation, it can be manually reshaped to restore its original form.

Helmet composition

The Antarès helmet consists of:

• A shell (available in 2 sizes S – M)
• A SET A of foams (which fit in the bottom and front of the helmet) included in the helmet price

The “head ring” pads set (set B) to adjust the shell to the head circumference, determining the size of the helmet is not included in the helmet price, so it must be purchased separately.
These foams fit on the sides. Set B is available in 4 thicknesses: 4 – 8 – 12 and 16 mm. The rear part of the “head ring” pad is removable to allow more space for a ponytail or to gather hair inside the helmet.

Shell:

• Size S shell fits foam sizes 53 to 56
• Size M shell fits foam sizes 56 to 59
• Size L shell fits foam sizes 58 to 61

Foams:

• Thickness 4: for helmets in 56S or 59M
• Thickness 8: for helmets in 55S or 58M
• Thickness 12: for helmets in 54S or 57M
• Thickness 16: for helmets in 53S or 56M

Maintenance

The foams can be washed in lukewarm water or in the machine at 30 degrees; they must not be tumble dried.

Warranty

You have a 5-year warranty from the date of manufacture of the helmet to request a revision of your helmet.

Note: Antarès helmets are rounder in shape; if you have a more oval head, we recommend choosing a size larger.
