Helmet Description Galaxy

The Galaxy helmet features unique colour combinations, contrasting stitching, and chrome details on the shell. Its timeless design adds to the comfort of a breathable helmet. Complying with European and American standards, it allows the rider to ride safely. The Eclipse visor adds an elegant and chic finish to the helmet. Its size, larger than a standard visor, protects you from the sun during your riding sessions in the arena or outdoors.

The Galaxy collection offers a high-gloss finish in five shell colours: blue, black, bison, grey, and carbon. The Galaxy helmet from Antarès is characterized by its shiny shell combined with leather inserts and harness.

Composition of your Equine Riding Helmet Reference

• The shell
  The outer shell of the helmet is made of ABS. Its role is to disperse the impact energy across the surface of the helmet. When your helmet hits an object, the shell spreads the shock wave by dissipating it. Sturdy and lightweight, it is known for its great resistance to scratches.

• The inner padding
  Made from EPS (expanded polystyrene), it absorbs the energy emitted by the impact by contracting. The padding thus becomes much denser. Its density varies according to the sizes of our helmets. To observe the effects of an impact on the padding, check out our blog post.

• The ventilations
  Its 4 front vents and 2 rear extractors provide good air circulation. Thermal regulation is therefore improved.

• The retention system
  The harness ensures that the helmet stays securely on the rider's head. It consists of 3 points. The Y-shaped fixation system is spaced further apart, which reduces helmet rotation. The straps are made of nylon and the buckles are POM. A little extra: the Antarès harnesses are made from leather sourced from the offcuts of their custom saddles. Aesthetic and responsible!

• The helmet pads/foams
  In contact with the rider's head, the premium foams allow for a perfect fit of your riding helmet and optimal comfort. Whether your head shape is round or oval, they will conform to your morphology. Removable, these internal pads can be regularly taken out and cleaned to maintain the cleanliness of the helmet. Made in Italy, they are breathable, OEKO-TEX® certified, and hand washable in lukewarm water.

The Antarès helmet bears the CE mark and SEI certification.

The European standard EN1384-2017 requires the visor to flex when a load is applied to it. This is to prevent it from breaking and injuring the rider. The visors of Antarès helmets are therefore intentionally flexible. In case of deformation, they can be manually adjusted to restore their original shape.

Helmet Composition

The Antarès helmet consists of:

• A shell (available in 2 sizes S – M )
• A SET A of foams (which fit at the bottom of the helmet and in the front) and which is included in the price of the helmet

The “head circumference” pad set (set B) to adjust the shell to the head circumference and which determines the helmet size is not included in the price of the helmet, so it needs to be purchased separately.
These foams fit on the sides. The set B is available in 4 thicknesses: 4 – 8 – 12 and 16 mm. The back part of the "head circumference" pad is removable to possibly allow more space for a ponytail or for pulling hair up inside the helmet.

Shell:

• The S shell fits foam sizes 53 to 56
• The M shell fits foam sizes 56 to 59
• The M shell fits foam sizes 58 to 61

Foams:

• Thickness 4: for helmets sized 56S or 59M
• Thickness 8: for helmets sized 55S or 58M
• Thickness 12: for helmets sized 54S or 57M
• Thickness 16: for helmets sized 53S or 56M

Care

The foams are washable in lukewarm water or in a washing machine at 30 degrees; they should not be tumble dried.

Warranty

You have a 5-year warranty from the date of manufacture of the helmet to request a revision of your helmet.

Note: The Antarès helmets are rounder in shape; if you have a more oval head, we recommend taking a size up.
