Also known as a bit continental, it works by lifting the bit into the horse's mouth in the same manner as a traditional gag, but without the same severity. Reins can be attached to either the snaffle ring or the bottom ring to increase pressure and leverage. You can also use two reins or rounding's attached to one rein with this bit to maintain proper contact on the snaffle ring without pressure on the neck when needed.

An anatomical copper pad in the center of the bit distributes pressure on the tongue and mouth bars and encourages biting and contact. Copper is a warm metal that encourages the horse to salivate and bite the bit. Ideal for horses that need extra braking power when jumping or doing work rapide.

Measurements
According to our size guide, the A and B measurements for this bit are as follows:
4.5" & 5" - A=16mm & B=115mm
5.5" & 6" - A=16mm & B=145mm

Stainless Steel Horse Bits...
Stainless steel is the most commonly used material for horse bits because it is durable, easy to clean and does not rust. Some of our stainless steel bits have copper mouthpieces that help create a warm feeling and encourage the horse to salivate and accept the bit. Stainless steel bits are suitable for a wide range of horses and are available in many designs so you can choose the bit that is right for your horse and your discipline.

Pair your two-ring gag and copper diamond bit with one of our anatomical bridles.

For health and hygiene reasons, this bit will not be returned if removed from the model.

  • Double-jointed stainless steel mouthpiece with copper lozenge
  • Exerts pressure on the snare with limited gagging action.
  • Ideally used by experienced cavaliers
  • This bit is not BD approved
  • Bit strength: Moderate

To promote good hygiene and protect the longevity of your horse bit, we recommend the following maintenance regimen after each use.

1. Rinse your bit after each use under a faucet to remove any saliva or debris from the surface.

2. Use a sponge or soft cloth to wipe off any excess debris from the bit, paying particular attention to the joints and hinges.

3. Allow to dry naturally.
