Opt for elegance and comfort with the Edix Saddles ED2-Rose bitless bridle, ideal for riding thanks to its quality Argentinian leathers.
WARNING: The ED2 bridle comes without reins.
An EDIX ED2 side pull bridle, beautifully designed and handcrafted from Argentine leather, from the Rose collection of EDIX products. Leather reins included!
The special headpiece ensures that the ears are not under any pressure and the trot strap is positioned so that the leathers stay clear of the eyes. The headpiece and noseband are slightly padded and oval-shaped for added comfort. The headpiece is adjustable using buckles.
The EDIX ED2 is a side pull bridle, where both reins are attached to rings on either side of the horse's muzzle. The bridle works with a direct release of any pressure applied by the rider through the reins. When you pull on both reins or, more subtly, when you apply a light pressure with both hands on the reins, this pressure is exerted on the horse's nose. When you release this pressure on the reins, the pressure immediately disappears from the horse's nose, which is known as a direct release. This provides a very clear signal, and most horses, including young ones and those accustomed to a bit, manage very well with a side pull bridle. By applying pressure on the right rein, the bridle slightly lifts away from the cheek, while the opposite side, the left side of the bridle, presses against the left cheek, allowing your horse to lean in the desired direction, combined with your aids at the seat. The noseband is wide and softly padded, so the impact on your horse's nose is limited and gentle.
At EDIX, we recommend equipping your horses with a bridle without a browband! A browband is not necessary for the bridle to stay stable on your horse, and by using a bridle without a browband, you ensure that there is no pressure behind the ears or on the occipital bone.
Furthermore, we believe that less is more, and isn't it nice to see more of your horse's face without a browband? The side pull fits like a regular bridle. The noseband should sit about four fingers from the top of your horse's mouth. It should be high enough not to rest on the cartilage of the nose or the end of the bones of the nose itself. The higher it is placed, the gentler the action will be. The chin strap should be raised, but make sure that the horse can still comfortably open its mouth; otherwise, if it is too loose, the bridle will begin to sag and your cues will not be clear.
